Project details
Overview:
The AI4VET (Artificial Intelligence for Vocational Education and Training) project aims to transform the VET sector by fostering the adoption of AI-powered, learner-centered education across Europe. Through the creation of hands-on tools, Future Classroom Lab (FCL) pilots, and multilingual resources, AI4VET supports both VET educators and learners. The project will deliver a comprehensive suite of tools including the Edu-AI Toolkit, a Set-Up Guidebook for Local Future Classroom Labs, an Intelligent Empowerment Tutor, and a Manual for VET Providers. These results will empower institutions to personalize learning, foster digital transformation, and build inclusive educational ecosystems.
Challenge:
VET systems across Europe often struggle to keep pace with emerging technologies like AI. Educators lack the training and confidence to integrate AI in the classroom, and learners—especially those in rural or underserved areas—miss out on engaging, personalized learning. The project addresses these gaps by providing structured, practical tools and resources tailored to different national contexts and languages.
Solution:
AI4VET tackles these challenges by co-developing and piloting a scalable, inclusive digital education ecosystem based on AI. The project will deliver:
Edu-AI Toolkit: A set of practical tools and templates for designing AI-integrated, learner-centered lessons.
Future Classroom Lab (FCL) Guidebook: A guide for establishing local innovation hubs within VET institutions that promote experimentation and creativity.
Intelligent Empowerment Tutor: A digital assistant that supports teachers in adopting AI for personalized learning.
Manual for VET Providers: A structured implementation framework that supports VET institutions in driving systemic change.
All resources will be available in multiple languages and hosted online, supporting adoption beyond the project’s lifetime.
Objectives:
Enable AI Integration in VET: Equip educators with the knowledge, tools, and digital confidence to implement AI-enhanced, student-centered teaching practices.
Build Local Innovation Capacity: Pilot Future Classroom Labs in five countries to test new educational models that promote digital experimentation and peer learning.
Foster Sustainability: Ensure long-term impact through localized translations, stakeholder training, and synergies with policy frameworks.
Promote Inclusion: Make AI-driven education accessible to learners from diverse backgrounds, with a focus on rural and underserved regions.
