Privacy policy

ACCELERAS KG, Rauhensteingasse 7/18, 1010 Vienna, Austria, is responsible for processing personal data on this website (controller under Art. 4(7) GDPR).

When you open a page, the server of our hosting provider automatically processes the technical data your browser sends: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, browser type and operating system. We need this data to deliver the website and keep it secure; the legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

These server log files are deleted after a short period, unless we need them to investigate an attack. Our hosting provider processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).

Our website only uses analytics cookies if you agree. On your first visit a banner asks whether we may use Google Analytics. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. We keep your choice in your browser’s local storage for 12 months, so that we do not have to ask on every page. Fonts and images are stored on our own server.

Google Analytics. If you agree, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”), to understand how our website is used — for example which pages are visited, how visitors find us and which devices and browsers they use. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device (_ga and _ga_7P0W65DCMD, stored for up to two years) and processes usage data about your visit. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. The data may also be processed by Google LLC in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision. The legal basis is your consent (§ 165(3) TKG 2021 and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future via “Cookie settings”. Usage data is deleted automatically after the retention period set in our Google Analytics account (at most 14 months). More information: Google privacy policy.

The visitor counter at the bottom of each page runs on our own server and counts every new visit to our website. Moving between our pages during the same visit is not counted again. The counter uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not record your IP address; only the total number of visits is kept. The download counters on our Library page and the view counters of our blog posts work the same way and keep only the number of downloads per file and of views per post. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing how often our website and our materials are used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Our contact form and our school request form do not send data to us directly. They open your own email app with the message filled in, and we receive your details only when you send that email. The same applies when you write to us directly.

We use your details (name, email address, organisation or school and your message) only to answer your enquiry and to prepare any offer or contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), or on the basis of our legitimate interest in replying to you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep the correspondence for as long as this requires and for the periods prescribed by law, for example seven years for business records under Austrian tax law.

If you sign up for our newsletter, your email app sends us your email address with a request to add it to our list. We use the address only to send you the newsletter, on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

You can withdraw your consent at any time by replying to any newsletter or by writing to m.sakr@acceleras.io. We then delete your address.

If you apply for an internship, a traineeship or career orientation days, or register for a seminar or programme, we use your details and application documents to process your application or registration (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

For programmes funded by the European Union or national bodies, we may have to pass participant data to the funding body or national agency for reporting and audits, as the funding rules require (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

We delete applications that do not lead to a placement at the latest seven months after our decision, unless you agree that we keep them longer.

Our pages link to other websites, for example our profiles on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram, Google Maps and the websites of our EU projects. These are plain links: no data is sent to these providers until you click one, and our website does not tell them which of our pages you came from. Once you open their site, their own privacy policies apply.

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and you can withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future. To use these rights, write to m.sakr@acceleras.io.

If you believe that we process your data unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.

We update this privacy policy when our website or our services change. The current version is always available on this page.
