Project details
Overview:
The DIGIHEALTH project is focused on equipping healthcare staff, particularly those in elderly and home care roles, with essential digital skills to improve service delivery and patient outcomes. As healthcare increasingly adopts digital tools, DIGIHEALTH seeks to address the digital skills gap among care assistants and home helpers. This initiative offers targeted training through a DIGIHEALTH E-Course and a DIGIHEALTH Academy, providing hands-on learning and gamified content tailored to practical needs. By fostering digital literacy, the project enhances care quality and prepares caregivers to adapt to the evolving demands of the healthcare sector.
Challenge:
As digital transformation impacts all sectors, healthcare, particularly elderly care, faces a pressing need for digital readiness. Many care workers lack essential digital skills and the training to use tools such as telehealth, electronic records, and care coordination software, limiting service efficiency and patient care quality. The low qualification levels of many care assistants also create barriers to adopting digital technologies in daily care.
Solution:
DIGIHEALTH tackles these challenges by developing a comprehensive training program that includes a needs analysis, tailored digital curriculum, and gamified learning modules to make training accessible and engaging. This blended learning approach combines online resources with in-person training, allowing care assistants to learn at their own pace while gaining practical digital competencies. Additionally, the project’s emphasis on GDPR and data privacy supports a safe digital environment for both caregivers and patients.
Objectives:
1. Bridge the Digital Skills Gap: Equip care workers with essential digital skills, enabling them to effectively use technology in caregiving roles.
2. Enhance Service Quality: Improve patient care through better digital coordination and access to telehealth and other e-health resources.
3. Support VET Adaptation: Provide vocational education institutions with resources to include digital healthcare competencies in their curricula.
4. Promote Inclusive Digital Literacy: Ensure accessible and sustainable digital training that supports continuous professional development for all levels of healthcare staff.
