ADULT: Financial Intelligence of Immigrant Women for Independent Stability and Empowerment

Project details

Overview:
The WISE (Financial Intelligence of Immigrant Women for Independent Stability and Empowerment) project aims to enhance the financial literacy and resilience of immigrant women across Europe. Through a combination of gamified learning, interactive training, and formal recognition, WISE supports both educators and learners. The project delivers a comprehensive suite of resources, including an interactive MOOC, an Educators’ Training Compass, and a Financial Education Certification Framework. These outputs help create inclusive educational environments while equipping adult education institutions (AEIs) with the tools to foster financial independence and inclusion among migrant women.
Challenge:
Migrant women in Europe often face financial exclusion due to limited access to quality financial education and digital learning opportunities. Barriers such as low confidence, lack of tailored support, and unfamiliarity with financial systems restrict their ability to participate fully in economic life. Adult education institutions often lack structured tools and strategies to address these gaps in a sustainable and inclusive manner.
Solution:
WISE tackles these challenges by providing a digital and pedagogical infrastructure that empowers both educators and learners. The project develops:
A Gamified MOOC that allows self-paced, accessible financial learning for immigrant women.
A Training Compass to guide adult educators in delivering inclusive, structured financial education.
A Certification Framework to formally recognize acquired competences.
These tools are aligned with EU strategies on financial inclusion and digital education and are designed to promote long-term adoption by AEIs and social enterprises.
Objectives:
Advance Financial Literacy:
Improve the financial knowledge, skills, and behaviors of immigrant women to enhance their independence and resilience.
Support Educators: Provide adult educators with practical, gamified resources and methodologies for inclusive financial education.
Certify Competences: Develop a European certification model that formally recognizes financial intelligence skills for employment and self-employment.
Foster Sustainable Impact: Build a network of certified educators and embed project tools into adult education systems for long-term use.
