WBL: Project Management in Non-Profit-Organisationen

Project details

Overview:
The DUAL.AI.TEACH (Dual AI Competence for Teaching and Education) project aims to transform teacher education in Europe by embedding Artificial Intelligence into both pedagogical practices and teaching curricula. The project introduces a dual-focus framework: teaching with AI to enhance instructional delivery and teaching about AI to develop students’ digital literacy and critical thinking. By establishing five AI-focused Teacher Academies, launching a multilingual AI Learning Platform, and deploying a formal certification framework aligned with EU micro-credentials, the project supports the development of competent, future-ready educators. DUAL.AI.TEACH empowers institutions to build resilient, inclusive, and innovation-driven teacher training ecosystems aligned with digital transformation and European education policy goals.

Challenge:
Educators across Europe face significant gaps in AI knowledge, skills, and confidence—hindering their ability to integrate AI tools into classroom teaching or teach AI as a subject. Existing teacher education frameworks lack structured training on ethical, effective, and inclusive AI use. At the same time, the rapid proliferation of AI technologies in society and industry has widened the digital divide, leaving many educators and learners—especially in underserved areas—without access to critical AI competencies. There is also limited cross-border collaboration and no recognized EU-wide certification system to validate AI teaching expertise, further slowing progress toward future-proof teacher education.

Solution:
DUAL.AI.TEACH addresses these challenges by co-developing and piloting a scalable, dual-perspective AI education model. The project will deliver:
AI-Powered Teaching Playbook: A practical framework to guide teachers in integrating AI into pedagogical design and classroom practice.
AI Certification Pathway: Competency-based validation of AI teaching skills, aligned with EU digital credentials and professional standards.
AI Learning Platform & Resource Hub: A digital platform with interactive modules, adaptable lesson plans, and multilingual AI tools for educators.
Teacher Academies & Mobility Programs: Five transnational academies offering hybrid, hands-on training and fostering peer learning and collaboration.
Classroom Pilots & Policy Integration: Real-world testing of AI-enhanced teaching, accompanied by policy recommendations for national adoption.
All tools and outputs will be freely available, translated, and designed for sustainable use beyond the project’s duration.

Objectives:
Advance Dual AI Competencies
: Equip educators with the skills to both use AI in teaching and teach AI as a subject, improving pedagogical quality and digital readiness.
Foster Mobility and Collaboration: Enable cross-border knowledge exchange through teacher mobility, workshops, and international academies.
Ensure Sustainable Certification: Develop a validated AI teaching certification system, fostering recognition and scalability across EU education systems.
Drive Inclusive AI Adoption: Ensure access to training and resources for educators from diverse and underrepresented regions, promoting equity in the digital transition.
Support Policy and Innovation: Engage stakeholders and policy-makers to embed AI education into formal teacher training curricula and ensure long-term impact.
